Should I get involved?

YES! Roller skating is a huge up and coming sport which increased in popularity over the Covid-19 lockdowns. It is now a sport in the Commonwealth Games 2022 and under consideration for an Olympic debut! Roller skating is a great form of fitness as it works on athletes’ cardiovascular fitness, muscular strength/endurance, and mental fitness.

Progress is personal, and it's not perfect

Skating develops skaters physically, mentally and socially! Not only do skaters progress in their abilities on wheels, but also in their focus, determination and self discipline outside of skating. The sport also has an element of danger, which fuels excitement in skaters, they learn to get out of their comfort zones to try new things in sessions. This skill translates to all aspects of life and really improves confidence both on the rink and off.
